E-ink equipped Samsung Alias 2 hands-on Video
The Samsung Alias 2 (aka Samsung SCH-U750) isn’t the most gorgeous phone in the market today, but it does boast of being the first mobile phone to feature an E-ink based keypad.
As a treat for everyone who’s curious about this new phone, JenJen from HowardForums has come out with this hands-on video showcasing the Samsung Alias 2 from Verizon. Thanks to this relatively new technology, the keypad automatically changes depending on the orientation of the phone. In landscape mode, there’s a QWERTY keypad available while the traditional alphanumeric keypad is present when in portrait mode. Apart from that, it apparently also comes with threaded messaging.
Sure, it could use some improvement in the aesthetics department, but this integration of E-ink technology for mobile phone use is truly a novel idea. Plus, if its rumored price of just $79 on contract is true, we’re pretty sure you can look past its shortcomings and consider getting this new iteration of the Alias.
