Gereral Mobile DSTL1 Android phone due next month

The last time we saw the General Mobile DSTL1 Android phone was way back in MWC at the beginning of this year. It looked very promising with its impressive specs, but we neither had a price or release date to really get us excited about it.

Well, that was then. Now, it looks like we won’t have to wait long for this Android phone to hit the market as it will possibly be released as early as next month. Word is that the US and Turkey will be the first two countries to get the DSTL1 with a retail price pegged somewhere between $550 and $750. With a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and EDR, WiFi connectivity, and Android 1.5 running the show, it’s a little bit pricey especially since the almost similarly featured Samsung i7500 is priced much less and already comes with HSDPA connectivity. However, how many Android phones do you know can lay claim of having dual-SIM card support?

The exact release date hasn’t been disclosed yet, but rest assured, we’ll keep you guys posted once more details start to surface. Let’s just hope that this doesn’t fizzle into thin air like the Agora in Australia.
