Rogers: Atlantic Canadians top Mobile Internet users in Canada
In a survey conducted by Ipsos-Reid on behalf Rogers Wireless, it was discovered that Atlantic Canadians rank as the top mobile internet users in the country.

More specifically, 63% of those who own a mobile phone in Atlantic Canada use it to access the internet for personal e-mail while 36% use it for social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. With 69% of Atlantic Canadians over the age of 18 already owning a mobile phone or smartphone, this region in the country definitely accounts for the majority of mobile internet users in Canada. Likewise, in general, 70% of all Canadian are already using mobile internet which is a huge improvement from the 11% of last year.
As such is the case, Rogers is eyeing these mobile internet users of today as their target market when they release both the HTC Dream and HTC Magic later this year. As Android phones are aimed at providing a more seamless web experience on a mobile phone, Rogers is leaning on the interest of Canadians for mobile internet use as their ticket for success with these new HTC phones.
Of course, pricing will always be an issue, but with the lack of any serious competition in the horizon as far as Android phones are concerned, Rogers looks like they have a potential hit on their hands.
