Rogers’ Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 nearing release

Everyone is probably getting ready to queue up for the iPhone 3G S, but for the handful of you Canadian folks out there still head over heels in love with the XPERIA X1, we’ve got good news for you.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is apparently now shipping to stores across the nation, and it’ll be available for retail within the next couple of days. As far as its price goes, it was revealed that it’ll cost $249.99 when you sign up for a 3-year contract with a minimum $45/month voice and data plan. That’s a little bit steep considering that it’s old news by now being over a year old already. As such is the case, we’re not quite sure who would still be enticed to pick this one up at that price especially with newer devices such as HTC Touch Pro2 and Palm Pre already confirmed in Canada. It’s handset upgrade price was leaked just a couple of days ago which starts at $499.99.

Anyway, if you’re an exception to the rule, you can rest easy now as it appears that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is nearing its long-overdue release in Canada by way of Rogers.
