Samsung M8910 Pixon 12 shoot-out with a Canon A620 camera, 350D DSLR

We’ve heard about the Samsung M8910 Pixon 12 before, and while we continue to wait for its release in the market, GSMArena has so kindly done us a favor and put this Samsung 12-megapixel phone to the test against another Samsung phone (Innov8), a compact digital camera (Canon A620) and a DSLR (Canon 350D).

That’s right folks. This is probably one of those rare occasions when you’ll see a mobile phone camera go up against a dedicated camera, and the results are quite promising. It managed to equal if not even best its compact digital camera rival and they even went as far as to say that the Pixon 12 “can reach the detail resolved by a true DSLR.” With a 12-megapixel sensor complemented by a 28-mm lens, we’re sure that the Samsung M8910 is pretty well-equipped to perform to the task at hand, but saying it comes close to the caliber of a DSLR is a bit too much in my opinion. Read more about the shoot-out here, and we’ll let you be the judge.

For what it’s worth, this latest preview serves to validate our early assumption that the Samsung M8910 Pixon 12 is a very compelling camera phone. Now that we’ve got that settled, can we finally move on to the more important stuff such as a North American release date and pricing?
