Nokia announcing Android handset in September?
We’re a bit skeptical of this latest rumor, but be that as it may, we’ll still spill the beans on this one and let you be the judge. According to the Guardian, Nokia will apparently be announcing an Android-based handset in September during their Nokia World event.

Even though quite a number of handset makers are already on the Android bandwagon (if not rumored to be hopping on-board sometime soon), Nokia isn’t exactly fit the bill as an Android advocate. For starters, for as long as we can remember, they’ve been using their very own software for their phones shunning away from other alternatives such as Windows Mobile. You also can’t discount the fact that they’re spear heading the Symbian Foundation as well which is supposedly rivaling the Open Handset Alliance, the makers of Android. So, it will really be quite a surprising move on Nokia’s part if ever they are indeed serious in adopting the Android platform into their collection. Given that their S60 OS is nowhere near the caliber of the Android OS or any of its contemporaries, this could be the reason why they’ve finally decided to give up the fight, but still, it’s a little too much for our brain to fathom at the moment.
Anyway, without any hard evidence to back this latest industry speculation up, this easily falls into the rest of the unproven rumor bin. However, granted that September is just a couple of months away, we’ll probably get the juicy details on this one as we draw closer to Nokia World.
