Palm Pre Exclusive to Bell for 6 months only
If you’re in Canada and you’re looking forward to owning a Palm Pre in the near future, the only carrier you can get it from is Bell since its got exclusive rights to distribute Palm’s latest (and greatest) smartphone in the country.

However, it apparently won’t be exclusive to Bell for very long. In fact, it won’t even be exclusive to Bell for more than 6 months to be exact. This is what the latest news has brought up regarding the release of the Palm Pre in Canada.
Here’s the exact quote from the Bell Strategy document that reveals this new info:
“The Palm Pre will expand and strengthen Bell’s smartphone category and will break new ground in the fiercely competitive smartphone market. Bell will be the second carrier worldwide (after Sprint) to sell the Palm Pre, with exclusivity for 6 months. Bell anticipates the Canadian market will strongly embrace this product with strong interest, which will boost overall smartphone sales.”
So, if you’ve got an aversion to Bell and willing to wait long enough, you can probably score yourself a Palm Pre from Telus too after 6 months.
Of course, we could just be getting ahead of ourselves, but considering how the Palm Pre is such a hit in the US managing to sell over 50,000 units in its first days in the market, we don’t see any reason why Telus would pass on this highly anticipated Palm smartphone. Be that as it may, we’d still rather wait for an official announcement from Telus before start rejoicing prematurely. Likewise, we’re a bit curious as to when the 6 months will officially start, or has it started already?
