Samsung Releases Haptic AMOLED Cell Phone

Samsung has announced a spanking new 3G full touchscreen cellphone known as Haptic AMOLED. The handset uses 3.5-inch Amoled display that provides high resolution 800 x 480 pixel resolution and a 180-degree viewing angle. Available in Korea via SK Telecom, KT and LG Telecom, the phone will retail for approximately $700. Other features include DivX, H.264, MPEG4 and AC-3 support, version 2.0 of the Haptic UI, T-DMB compatibility, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity and a navigation support. [Oled Display]

If you think about the technology inside these phones then you will realize $800 isn’t that bad for a computer the size of a wallet. That’s a very steep price tag…six hundred dollars or probably seven hundred dollars would have been a better compromise but eight hundred bucks for an unlocked phone that evidently will be discounted a couple months down the line isn’t worth it. Btw, the new AT&T HTC One X has no removable battery (though the capacity is weaker), no expandable memory, less going for it in terms of functionality /versatility of the software, camera is inferior to that on the SGSIII according to all reviews I’ve seen, etc..
