Verizon announces Nokia 7705 Twist

If you’re into unconventionally designed phones that stray off the usually beaten path, then you might want to check out Verizon’s latest offering, the Nokia 7705 Twist.

Verizon Nokia 7705 Twist

It stays true with the current trend with a QWERTY-keypad, but offers it up in a new square-ish form factor swivel design highlighted by a Contact Light Ring that illuminates when a call or message is received. Needless to say, the Nokia 7705 Twist is aimed targeting a specific market with its new and one-of-a-kind design. Apart from its unusual architecture, it also boasts of a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display, 3-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, Bluetooth, HTML browser, built-in mirror, 2.5mm jack, EV-DO rev. 0 connectivity, and a host of shortcut buttons providing quick access to its various features.

It’ll be available for order online beginning September 13th and is expected to hit retail stores by the 21st. The Nokia 7705 Twist will ship with black and purple Xpress-on covers as part of the package ass well. Retail price is pegged at $99.99 on a 2-yr contract after a $50 mail-in rebate is applied. The specs aren’t that bad especially at its price-point, but its funky design is a little too over-the-top for my taste. You can read more about it here.
