AT&T, Best Buy launching Nokia Booklet 3G on October 22

It’s now confirmed that AT&T through Best Buy will be offering up Nokia’s very first netbook, the Booklet 3G, in the US.

Nokia Booklet 3G

It will retail for $299 on a 2-year contract with a $60/month data plan. Outright purchase of the Nokia-branded netbook is pegged at a whopping $599. With A-GPS, Ovi maps, and a hot-swappable SIM card slot on-board, the Nokia Booklet 3G is indeed an ideal device to be offered up by carriers. We’re not too sure though if it merits the steep price tag, but we’ll see how the market reacts to this. The full press release can be found here.

The Nokia Booklet 3G will be launched on October 22nd alongside Windows 7, its OS. Interested buyers can already place their pre-orders on the said day. The first batch of netbooks is expected to arrive in mid-November. We’re not sure if it will cross the northern border and become available in Canada as well. However, given that Rogers jad already previously offered up netbook before in the form of the HP Mini 110, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Canadian carrier does the same with the Nokia Booklet 3G.
