Rogers announces the Nokia 6790 Surge, $29.99 (3-yr voice contract)
Rogers, together with Nokia, has just officially announced the Nokia 6790 Surge in Canada.
For those not familiar with this particular phone, the Nokia 6790 Surge is a QWERTY-equipped slider that comes with a 2.4-inch display, 2.0-megapixel camera with dedicated camera key, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G connectivity, Ovi Maps complete with Drive and Walk navigation, Bluetooth, 2.5mm jack, and runs on the S60 FP2 mobile operating system. It’s not a smartphone by any means, but will be a pretty decent alternative for messaging aficionados looking for a new handset. To further entice the public, Rogers will be selling it for only $29.99 on a 3-year voice contract making it one the more affordable QWERTY devices in the market today.
We previously reported that Rogers has begun shipping the Nokia 6790 Surge already, and thanks to this announcement, it seems that it’s now available for purchase. It still isn’t listed yet on Rogers website though, but it should be up there within the next couple of days.
