Wolfram Alpha iPhone app now Available for $50
In their bid to cash in on the whole iPhone and craze, the guys behind Wolfram Alpha have released an iPhone app for the Jesus phone.

Aptly named Wolfram Alpha, this nifty little app is ideal for financial analysts, scientists, students, marketing managers or basically anyone who’s just curious about everything there is in life. It’s sort of like a pocket reference book/calculator all molded into one. There’s no doubt that this is one versatile and useful app, but at $49.99, we can’t help wonder if it will gain any mileage at the App Store considering that the top selling apps are all priced well below it.
Here’s an e-mail sent to by WolframAlpha rep Josh Dilworth regarding this matter:
How many people will buy it? We’re not sure, but looking at the other apps that are $50+, we think that we’re of at least comparable in utility and functionality, if not more. And, part of what the company is also doing is making a statement about the non-trivial nature of WolframAlpha’s capabilities, and how much the system has matured since launch.
I guess that reply says it all. If you’re interested in this Wolfram Alpha iPhone, you can it now at the App Store. When you’re done, don’t forget to hit us up in the comments section below and share with us your quick impressions on it.
However, if like us, you think that $50 is just too much of an asking price for an app, you can also access Wolfram Alpha through mobile Safari at http://www.wolframalpha.com/iphone/, and even better, it won’t cost you anything.
