Samsung announces AT&T-bound netbook, the Samsung Go
Samsung has just announced their first carrier tie-in netbook offering, the Samsung Go.
Similar to the Nokia Booklet 3G, the Samsung Go will be running on the Windows 7 Starter Edition OS. It also boasts of 3G connectivity with an Intel Atom processor under the hood and a 4-cell 4000Ah battery to provide up to 4 hours of usage on a single charge. Details about its other hardware specs weren’t made known yet, but from what we can tell based on the provided image, it comes with a chiclet-style keyboard and has a built-in webcam though its rating is unknown. The Samsung Go will be released via AT&T in the US and is expected to become available along with the Nokia Booklet 3G by November 22nd. Price is still yet to be disclosed. The Go doesn’t look as sexy as the Booklet 3G, but if they price it just right, Samsung might even manage to outsell the Finnish company’s first netbook.
How about the Canadian market? Well, it wouldn’t be surprising if this ends up with Rogers given that they have the HP Mini 110 under their brand, but with Telus and Bell now offering GSM/HSPA devices, both of them are now also a viable candidate as well.
