Frequent Cell phone use can help prevent, cure Alzheimer’s Disease
We’ve heard so many stories on how the frequent use of cell phones can be bad for humans particularly in the with how its electromagnetic waves affect the brain. However, based on the results of this latest research as posted in Yahoo News, it can actually help prevent the onset Alzheimer’s and even reverse its effects for those who have it already. These were the findings in an experiment where a group of Alzheimer’s-afflicted mice were constantly exposed to electromagnetic waves equivalent to those emitted by mobile phones. Gary Arendash, lead author of the research published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, admits that they were expecting the results to be on the negative side.
To their surprise, the mice performed better and had reversal of brain pathology by the end of the experiment.
He goes on to explain:
It (the electromagnetic wave) prevents the aggregation of that bad protein of the brain. The findings are intriguing to us because they open up a whole new field in neuroscience, we believe, which is the long-term effects of electromagnetic fields on memory.
As a result, they now believe they’ve found a non-invasive, drug-free way to treat those with Alzheimer’s. It’s still a long way to go though before this is applied to modern medicine, but nonetheless, this is still a break-through discovery for the study of the disease. This latest development also serves to strengthen the argument that frequent and long-term cell phone use is, in fact, harmless to the human brain. Using a cell phone while driving, however, is a completely different story.
