Mobile FireFox for Android ready to launch next month?
Earlier this month, Mozilla finally released their Mobile FireFox browser albeit still being an RC1 version.
It was also only limited to the Maemo-powered Nokia N900, but based on what Camp-firefox.de reports, we might be seeing a version of FireFox Mobile compatible for the Android platform available to the public as early next month. According to them, the Android version has been complete since December of last year though it still wasn’t capable of browsing during the time. The decision to launch it on the Android platform isn’t a hard one to make especially from a business standpoint. Google isn’t as strict as Apple when it comes to offering up apps, and it’s hard to deny that Android-powered devices are the in thing these days.
Of course, this is still yet to be confirmed, but with February just around the corner, we’ll know soon enough if there’s some degree of truth to this rumor.
