Rogers BlackBerry Outage scheduled for January 17th

Here’s a heads-up for you BlackBerry-toting guys out there on Rogers. CrackBerry has been advised by Audit of Dataoutages that there will be a scheduled BlackBerry outage this coming Sunday, January 17th. This is due to maintenance work which will be done on Rogers‘ BlackBerry Enterprise Servers. Work will begin 2:00 am and will end at 6:00 am though the outage is estimated to only last for 10 minutes.

Date: Sunday, January 17th, 2010
Start Time: 02:00 AM (EDT)
End Time: 06:00 AM (EDT)
Estimated Outage Length: 10 minutes

Work Summary: Rogers customer with BlackBerry devices may be unable to send or receive messages during the maintenance. They may also be unable to register their device, roam in another location, or use other services such as Internet browsing. At the same time, BlackBerry Enterprise Servers may be unable to connect to the BlackBerry Infrastructure during this maintenance.

Sure, nobody likes outages and downtime, but at least this one will only last for 10 minutes and we’re being informed ahead of time.
