Samsung unveils M100S Android 2.1 phone, Samsung Galaxy to receive Android 2.1 update in Q2

Samsung has just unveiled their latest touchscreen phone offering, the Samsung SHW-M100S, that joins the Nexus One in the still very limited Android 2.1 segment of the market.

This new phone from the no. 2 phone maker in the world boasts of a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording capabilities, WiFi (802.11n), GPS, DivX support, 3.5mm jack, the latest version of TouchWiz running on top of Android 2.1, and a speedy 800MHz processor. It’s already confirmed for release in Korea via SK Telecom this March so it doesn’t comes as a surprise that it also pack a T-DMB tuner as well. On a similar, it’s already reported that Samsung will release an Android 2.1 update in the second quarter for the Samsung Galaxy (available on Bell in Canada). So if it happens that this new Samsung M100S Android phone doesn’t become available in the North American market, you can at least look forward to enjoying some Android 2.1 goodness on your Samsung Galaxy phone in the near future.
