Rogers unveils Canada’s first Handset Protection Guarantee Program
In their bid to provide their clients more than just the average service, Rogers has just announced their Handset Protection Guarantee program, a first in Canada, which is scheduled to roll out on the 24th of this month.

With the help of this program and at no added cost to the subscriber, customers who either lost or damaged their phone can get it replaced or repaired at a subsidized cost on their first out-of-warranty occurrence. Those who wish to avail of this program can call 1-888-ROGERS1 or visit the nearest Rogers retail store to make arrangements so that they can receive a replacement device while their handset is being repaired/replaced. For repairs, Rogers will assess the damage, provide a quote and will repair the device within 10 working days. For lost/stolen phones, subscribers have the option to either get a $0 replacement (with new or existing commitment of at least 12 months) or receive a discount on a new/refurbished handset.
While there is no additional charge to the subscriber, they do need to have an eligible device to qualify for this offer. All new Rogers voice devices, Rogers BlackBerry devices, smartphone/PDA devices and Rogers Rocket sticks are eligible for this program. A move that stands to benefit more the subscriber than the carrier, this new program will hopefully help Rogers land on the good side of some of their disgruntled clientèle.

Rogers Keeps Customers Connected When Devices Become Lost, Stolen or Broken
TORONTO, May 11 /CNW/ – In response to customers’ desire to always stay connected, Rogers Communications Inc. today unveiled the Rogers Handset Protection Guarantee program, available at no cost to Rogers Wireless customers. The program, a first in Canada, offers customers whose devices have been lost, stolen or broken a discount toward repair or the choice of a $0 or subsidized replacement device on their first out-of-warranty occurrence.

The Rogers Handset Protection Guarantee is a courtesy program designed to give our customers peace of mind that they’ll continue to be connected to what matters to them.”
Through the new, innovative Rogers Handset Protection Guarantee, Rogers customers with a lost, stolen or broken wireless device can call 1-888-ROGERS1 or visit a Rogers retail store to arrange to receive a courtesy device until a replacement or repair is available.
In the event of a lost or stolen device, Rogers will offer customers a discount toward the purchase of a new or refurbished replacement device. In the event of a broken device, a customer may choose to take advantage of the discounted replacement program or select to have their device repaired at a subsidized cost. Rogers will assess the damage, provide a quote and repair the device within 10 business days. In the event of lost, stolen or broken devices, customers will have the option to select a $0 replacement*.
Customers must have an eligible device to participate. In particular, all new devices in the following categories are eligible including: Rogers voice devices, Rogers BlackBerry devices, smartphone/PDA devices and Rogers Rocket sticks. Replacement options will include both refurbished and new devices and include $0 options*.
