The world’s leading provider of inflight connectivity Aircell today unveiled the world’s first airborne smartphone called the Aircell Smartphone. Designed specifically for aircraft use, this new smartphone will “allow passengers to place and receive voice calls aboard business aircraft as easily and conveniently as they do with mobile phones on the ground.” In terms of specs, the Aircell Smartphone packs a large 3.8-inch touchscreen display, an alphanumeric keypad, an integrated audio jack, Bluetooth and runs on Android OS. The Aircell Smartphone is scheduled to go on sale in late 2011, however, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Aircell]
