I’m curious as to whether or not it will happen. Motorola hasn’t put out a phone on T-Mobile in over 2 years.

The Burj Al Arab, the iconic 7-star hotel in Dubai, unveiled its newest luxury amenity: 24-carat gold iPads. After check in, guests will receive their own gold iPads, which will be used as a virtual concierge and provide information about the hotel’s restaurant menus, spa treatments, housekeeping and other services. Guests will be required to return the iPad at the end of their stay. The gold plated iPads though will be available for sale in the hotel’s gift shop with a price tag of 37,490 AED, or $10,448 Canadian dollars.

What Else You Need To Know:

- The gold iPads were custom created for the hotel by British brand Gold & Co.

- The hotel already has an iMac in each of its 202 rooms, in addition to other luxury amenities, like walk-in showers and Jacuzzis, large plasma TVs, and private butler service.

- Designed to look like a flag sail, the Br Al Arab hotel sits on a man-made island almost 250 metres off the Jumeirah coast.

- The price for a room at the hotel starts at $1,500 per night.

In the latest Consumer Reports rankings of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship tops the list, besting out old favorites like the iPhone 5. The Galaxy S4 outranked other flagships with the LG Optimus G, HTC One, the Galaxy S3, and the Apple iPhone 5 completing the top five. “The S4 delivered top-notch performance in the most critical areas of our tests”, the publication says. The device was lauded for its Full HD Super AMOLED display, camera capabilities, the gesture and eye-tracking navigation, as well as the sharing and multitasking capabilities of the phone. Some of the weaknesses rated on the device include video quality, mediocre call quality, and battery life.

What Else You Need To Know:

- The device was recently selected by Google as an alternative to the Internet giant’s traditional Nexus-branded phone called the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition, or the Nexus Edition.

- Consumer Reports noted that notwithstanding the top-notch features, Samsung didn’t make the device overly complicated.

- Samsung has arranged its flagship smartphone to be rolled out with a staggering 327 operators across 155 countries starting April 26th.

Following Pebble Watch’s overwhelmingly successful fundraising campaign via Kickstarter, creators of the Agent are touting their new smartwatch at the crowd funding platform. Agent, which is touted as “the world’s smartest watch”, features two processors: one with higher performance capabilities and one extremely low-power variant to handle simple background tasks. Other notable features include wireless Qi induction charging with an included pad. Pledge points at Kickstarter will begin at $149 (which will give users an AGENT smartwatch minus the wireless charger). The device is expected to retail at around $249 when it ships late this year.

What Else You Need To Know:

- Early-bird backers at Kickstarter can pre-order the device for $129.

- The gadget features a 120HMz ARM Cortex-M4 processor, a 1.28-inch display, Bluetooth 4.0, onboard motion and light sensors and an OS that allows developers to write apps for it using C# and Microsoft Visual Studio.

- The watch, according to the creators, should get up to 7 days of battery life with its smart functions activated, or up to 30 days of standby in “watchface-only” mode.

- Tech giants Apple, Samsung, Google and LG are also developing their own smart watches, according to recent reports.
