Unlike their fellow Korean handset maker Samsung, LG apparently is not interested in developing an OS of their own for use in their phone collection. It’s now official. After numerous rumors, the recently launched Motorola Backflip is now officially AT&T’s first Android phone. This quirky backflipping QWERTY-equipped touchscreen Android phone has just been announced by AT&T and will be available beginning March 7th.

It’s still a long way before this goes into effect, but nonetheless, we’re letting everyone know that Quebec will be getting a new area code as announced by the CRTC. Based on a forecast submitted by the Canadian Numbering Administrator (CNA) in April of last year, they found out that the area code 819 used in Quebec will run out by February 2015.

We’ve been hearing for the longest time that Rogers will be getting a BlackBerry Storm as part of their line-up, but it’s only now that we’ve got some sort of evidence of this actually happening. This ad from the March issue of the Canadian Business magazine obviously entices its readers to check out the new BlackBerry Storm 2 , but what’s interesting to note here is the last sentence wherein it states “ see all there is to see with BlackBerry Storm smartphones from Rogers and other major retailers. ” There’s no mention though of a specific release date or pricing.

HTC has launched three new phones at MWC including the aluminum clad HTC Legend which we featured last week. As expected, the Legend comes with 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, optical trackpad, and runs on a 600MHz processor. It’ll ship with Android 2.1 as its OS complemented by Sense, and will hit European markets next month with Asia to follow in the second quarter

Motorola has announced the latest addition to their slowly growing Android family of phones in the form of the Cliq XT which is set to debut on T-Mobile next month. Previously rumored as the Zeppelin, the Motorola Cliq XT sports a 3.1-inch touhscreen, 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, AGPS, 3G connectivity, navigation touchpad, and a dual-mic noise cancellation system. Debuting outside the US as the Motorola Quench, it also comes loaded with Motoblur and Adobe Flash Lite.
